Philosophy, satire, and idealism, oh my! - Wesley Clark
Philosophy, satire, and idealism, oh my!
A brief word from the community maintainer...

I set this community up a couple of weeks ago, after I first heard of the Draft Clark movement and thought he sounded sort of interesting, and I discovered there wasn't one already. My main goal in doing so was to create a community where people could discuss and debate Clark-related topics in a friendly and open environment. I was pretty excited when people started joining and posting things, so I didn't feel like I needed to generate talking points anymore. I really am glad that so many of you are posting and discussing things in this forum, and I hope that overall it's been a positive, informative resource for everyone.

With regard to wesleyclark and its recent postings: Fakejournals can be really funny. I don't want to get into the business of squashing dissent -- dissent is good and healthy -- so I haven't banned that user from posting yet. This is idealistic, I know, but for all I know, the person behind the puppet might actually be interested in Clark but just not comfortable posting serious questions for some reason. That notwithstanding, I will ban it if it doesn't stop posting in character, after I asked it to stop. Its posts weren't productive additions to the community; they were flamebait. (Thank you for not taking it!) And that's not what we're here for. But I never made a set of rules for the community, and I should have.

So, I just created the rules. They're posted on the community information page, but I'll quote them here as well, since, as I just wrote 'em, no one has seen them. :)
Please keep it civilized and topical. Discussion and debate is the name of the game -- not flaming or trolling. Yes, discussion can include criticism of Clark or of things related to him, but it should not include ad hominem attacks or flamebait. Please don't post off-topic comments, or bash Clark or the other candidates. I do not intend for this to be a community where no criticism is permitted. Just keep it objective and calm, and no one will get hurt. :)
Thanks for reading. I now return you to your regularly scheduled Clark discussions. Next Clark Meetup is next Monday at 7PM. And don't forget to watch the Democratic debates tomorrow evening, 8PM EDT! :)
